Eset Nod Likes:
Hitch-free installation: The antivirus installation setup process is fast and smooth. Novice users need not worry about various requests for information for these were clearly and simply stated. For those who want to configure and fine-tune their installation, a more advanced setup process is also available like those of proxy settings, firewall configuration etc. In practically no time the antivirus was fully installed and ready to go, with no reboot requested. The default settings are also ideal for average customers.
Lightning fast: NOD Antivirus 4 is built for speed. You won’t even notice that it is installed on your computer. Even disk-intensive operations like performing a full disk scan can run smoothly in the background while you work. Its speed and reduced lag make it the perfect solution for gamers too.

Slow and sometimes unresponsive customer support: Customers are becoming more and more unimpressed with the level of service that they are receiving from ESET. Customers have reported long waits in response to issues. Some customers have resorted to reinstalling the previous version for better performance.
Problems with offline files while online: After updating to the NOD32 Antivirus v4, browsing offline documents became extremely slow, until the PC is switched to offline mode. Reverting back to NOD32 Antivirus v3 fixed the problem. We are running v4 of the software, and have not noticed any appreciable slowdown in browsing offline documents. This may have been an issue with early releases of v4.
Vista SP2 Updates crash NOd32: After applying SP2 Vista updates via Windows Update, you will get a message from NOD32 telling you that the real time scanner has encountered an error and NOD32 needs to be reinstalled.
Eset Nod Bottom Line:
ESET NOD32 Antivirus has always been a cutting-edge product in computer protection technology. This new product version 4, surrendered complexity and technicality, and has actually taken something of a lead in terms of ease of use. The default settings put in place in a few easy steps during the installation process seem ideal for general purpose use, and information and alerting is clear and helpful without being intrusive.

Installed it and forgot it. Don’t even know it’s there. Easy on system resources, but extremely effective. We use this product ourselves on our own computers, and found that unlike so many other packages it does not bog our systems down at all. We are running Windows XP. We have a virus scan scheduled for every Monday and we never even notice that it’s running until it has finished and tells us that it has completed the scan. Whereas with Mcafee we hadn’t run a system scan for over a year just because it rendered our computer useless for anything else while the scan was running.
